MFK Technologies is proud to announce the successful completion of a major modernization phase for the special profiles rolling mill of Schwerter Profile GmbH, Germany.
The project began with an extensive plant survey, followed by a detailed reverse engineering analysis of the existing mill configuration to identify the most effective upgrade strategy.
Based on this preliminary engineering work and using detailed FEM analysis, MFK Technologies introduced significant improvements to the rolling stands in order to increase radial and axial stiffness, ensuring tighter rolling tolerances, enhanced final product precision, and an enlarged product mix. At the same time, the stand changing system was simplified to reduce intervention times and improve the overall Mill Utilization Factor.
The new equipment was entirely manufactured at SMF Group’s workshops in Fagagna, Italy, before being delivered on site for installation.
This modernization marks one of the key milestones of a broader revamping program currently in progress, which will develop through multiple phases aimed at upgrading several strategic areas of the plant.
